PDD-NOS stands for Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified. This was a category of autism diagnosis that is no longer used. A PDD-NOS diagnosis would typically be given to a patient who displayed mild or high-function symptoms but who did not meet the criteria for an Asperger’s diagnosis. PDD-NOS has since been consolidated with other previously used categories under the umbrella of autism spectrum disorder.
